How it all began
The "Istanbul - Bosporus Rotary Club Association" was founded on the initiative of the parent club RC Erenköy thanks to the active commitment of the founding representative Mehmet Türker, a long-time member of RC Erenköy, who was then district representative in 2015/2016, and our former member, Lamia Öğütmen.
The first information meeting took place at the Swissotel on March 17, 2015.
The charter by Rotary International took place on June 24, 2015. Therefore, the year 2015 appears on our club flag.
Rukiye, Mehmet Türker and Suzan Karakıvrak have drawn up the association’s statutes.
Charter and founding
On 25.01.2016 our club was officially registered as a Turkish association in the association register under the number
Registered under 34-220-113.
Its official name is "İstanbul - Boğaziçi Rotary Kulübü Derneği"
Our charter ceremony took place on March 17, 2016 at the Chalet-Swissotel.
First members
From the beginning, there were among others:
Mehmet Turker, Dr. Felix Schmidt, Lamia Öğütmen, Andreas Matt, Haydar Zorlu, Rukiye Çalışkan, Suzan Karakıvrak, Heike Radel, Markus Felchner, Helga Moeschel, İlhan Güzeliş, Hasan Babür Söğütlü, Peter Heidinger, Kaya Gönençer and Abdulkadir Topuçar and Görkem Peksöz.
The statutes of our association were signed by the 7 founding members Mehmet Türker, Haydar Zorlu, Rukiye Çalışkan, Suzan Karakıvrak, Lamia Öğütmen, Kaya Gönnender and Hasan Babür Söğütlü.
